Why “Schooling Doula”?
Transitions in education—especially between school levels or when entering college—can feel overwhelming, emotional, and full of unknowns. Brynnen chose the name Schooling Doula intentionally: just as a birth doula supports and calms a family through one of life’s biggest transitions, Brynnen seeks to guide students and caregivers through schooling transitions with expertise, compassion, and deep care.
She bridges two worlds: institutional systems (which often feel rigid, confusing, or opaque) and the lived experience of what families actually go through. Her job is to hold space, translate complexity, advocate when needed, and help you chart a path that’s aligned with your values, hopes, and strengths.
Because she’s been in your shoes—as educator, advisor, and parent—she knows that what matters isn’t just “what is possible,” but what’s possible for you, given your starting place, concerns, and dreams.
“Words cannot express how grateful I am to have Brynnen as my college counselor and mentor. She is one of the most supportive, loving, and caring people I know. From editing my essays to answering all of my questions with a quick response time, she was always there to help me whenever I needed it”
“Brynnen made an overwhelming process feel more manageable. Her expertise and neutral stance made it easier for our family.”
Transitions are big. But you don’t have to walk them alone. I’m here to guide, advocate, and simplify what often feels messy, overwhelming, or unfair. Whether you’re in middle school, preparing for high school, or in the throes of college admissions, the right support makes all the difference.
If you’d like to see how this might work for your family, let’s start with a meet & greet. (No pressure, no hard sell — just clarity and conversation.)
“Brynnen was super knowledgeable on the college admissions process because I was pretty clueless about the whole thing before we started … Her edits were really good and clear without erasing my own voice.”
